We are planning to start our trip to Florida one week from tomorrow. (March 6th) As you can imagine we have a lot of packing left to do but we are getting there slowly but surely. We met with our realtor on Saturday and will meet with him again today and hopefully set a price for our house. We plan to pack up everything then have all our friends over on Sunday to help clean and stage the house. Hopefully the house will sell quickly and we can start saving some money.
As for other details...We are in the process of purchasing a truck. It's a silver Ford F250, 4 door, diesel. (Which we have plans to add a vegetable oil conversion so that we can do our small part to save the world, not to mention save a little money on fuel.) We have to wait for the bank to process a few things which can take from 5-10 days so we may not get it 'till the day before we plan to leave. Hopefully we are being selective enough on what we plan to take with us so that all 5 of us plus all of our stuff is going to fit in this truck, which I have yet to see. Sounds like fun huh? :-)
We are going to be borrowing a fifth-wheel camper trailer from the man who founded Advanced tank. We don't know how big it is or any other details, but we are picking it up in Alabama on our way to Florida. Worse case scenario, we decide we can't live in it and we have to find a long term hotel to stay in.
We are very excited about this new adventure. The first couple of days after we decided to take the position we were a little scared, but now we are surprisingly calm. Everything is falling into place wonderfully. God is just amazing. Yet, we are very sad to be leaving our friends and we are dreading the long drive across country with Cora, Sadie (dog) and Penny (cat). It will be over twice as long as our previous road trips to visit our families in Texas. But Cora is a wonderful traveler and I'm sure it won't be as bad as we think. Best of all we finally get to leave all this snow that has been hanging around here since December 20th. We are just now starting to see grass in our back yard!
