So remember when I said that the company wanted to move Jonathan back into the office...
That was rather shocking and unexpected. We had goals and plans for the next few years on the road. Then we received the offer and kinda felt pushed to take the offer.
It's amazing how you can plan out your future in your head in just a matter of days.
We spent a few sleepless nights planning the move and looking up RV sites. We looked at land/houses for sell to get some idea of what moving back would look like. Even started doodling plans of a house we would like to build . I started day dreaming about playgroups, babysitters, and volunteering at our church.
We quickly became comfortable with the idea, well at least I did. Jonathan was a bit concerned that he had not had the opportunity to gain enough in the field experience for this position (The two other men in this position have 20-30 years experience in the field).
On Thursday, Jonathan and the president, Jim, had a long conversation. Jim decided that he may not have thought it through and may have gotten a little excited. Both him and Jonathan decided that it would be best for the company for Jonathan to spend more time learning the ends and outs of Tank building before being pulled back into the office. After all the best way to learn about tank building is to build tanks.
The offer to move back to Fort Collins was taken off the table.
So...we will not be moving back to Fort Collins anytime soon. This again took me by surprise. After having a week to wrap my brain around this huge change in our lives, the change is not going to happen. Now everything is back to to our original plans, except we have learned one lesson....it's all completely out of our control. We can plan all we want, but that can easily be completely changed tomorrow.
Yet hasn't that always been true.
We will still be heading to New Orleans some time around Valentine's day and staying there for about three week. From there we'll be back in Waco. But were instructed not to get too comfortable because there are many jobs on the horizon that may need Jonathan's assistance.
They are keeping us on our toes as always.
