Good Bye FBC

If all goes as planned, today was our last visit to FBC. Though we still have some time left in the Austin area, we most likely will not be able to make it back to FBC before we leave Texas. We were all a little sad as we said our good-byes this morning.
Our children have so LOVED their teachers.
We adore Ms. Feinestein. Cora has learned so much in her class and even grew two baby avocado trees. One they planted on the church playground and the other is sitting next to me on this desk as we attempt to nurse it back to health after I left it to roast in the sun.
Oops.
I found two new leaves budding, so all hope is not lost for this poor little tree.

Mr. Ward was Caleb's favorite teacher. Caleb was his little buddy. On the mornings when Caleb was less than enthusiastic about staying in his class, all the world would be made right by the arrival of his beloved Mr. Ward.

He pulled Jonathan aside this morning and handed him a watch. His watch. You see this was Caleb's favorite watch and he would sit with Mr Ward and play with it over and over and over. He made sure to include the instructions as well, saying that we'd need them to be able to reset it after Caleb was finished playing with it. This sweet and heart felt gift brought tears to our eyes. How very precious.
Thank you Mr. Ward.
Then we had to say our good-byes to our Sunday School class. It was a little overwhelming as they all gathered around, laid hands on us, prayed and blessed us. They have been a wonderful church family. We have enjoyed the discussions, laughter, and time spent getting to know them all. They are such a fun and loving bunch and we will miss them.

---Thank you FBC for letting us be a part of your family. You were all so welcoming from the moment we walked in the door on our first visit. We are happy to take what we have learned from you and share it with others as we head on down the road. ---

This is one of the worst and best things about being on the road. We have met so many God-loving-folk, and experienced many different types of churches. It's amazing to feel and see the common bond of love that unites us all no matter where we live or how we "do church."
Its great to meet and get to know new friends, its always sad when we have to leave, and yet, its thrilling to anticipate meeting even more friends.

Life on the road...it's good stuff.

On another very happy note, my sister-in -law had her new baby. Beautiful healthy baby boy! We can't wait to meet him and kiss his sweet face!
